There are consequences to ‘cheating’ and playing what you think your audience wants/expects. By giving into convention, an artform becomes stale, and authenticity is sacrificed. Nothing is gained by you the author, the process you enact to create, or the audience that experiences your creation if you are consciously forfeiting innovation. You have the opportunity to introduce new sounds and recontextualize old ones. Don’t squander it on doing what is expected. There will be plenty others to do that for you.
